On behalf of the school board, staff, and students I want to welcome you to the North Lakeland School District. Nestled in the heart of the Northwoods surrounded by the best that nature has to offer, North Lakeland focuses on each student while fostering a safe, creative, and rigorous educational environment.
North Lakeland is a 4K through 8th grade single building school district. With an average class size of 15 students, each teacher is able to focus on the individual student and create classrooms that increase student achievement and confidence. The school is supported by a strong network of community members, parents, and alumni.
The student experience at North Lakeland is about building strong relationships with teachers and peers while being challenged to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Students at North Lakeland are able to have the same academic experiences as a big school but in a small, nurturing environment. On top of strong core academics, North Lakeland students 4K through 8 have classes that include Spanish, music, art, engineering, library, and physical education.
The school building is located on 80 acres of land surrounded by lakes. The on-site school forest serves as the gateway to hundreds of acres of state land. Because the school embraces the wonderful natural surroundings, an extensive outdoor education program has been getting students outside since 1981. This program includes a total of six days out of the classroom and into the outdoors. All students participate in an immersive outdoor program that includes outdoor skills, canoeing, citizen science, hiking, fishing, and many other hands-on activities.
While I have only mentioned a few things that make North Lakeland a great school, I would love to talk to you more. Feel free to contact me anytime to arrange a tour and learn more about North Lakeland School District.
